Terms of Service

Last updated: 4 June 2026

Welcome to FoodBank.ng. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Who We Are

FoodBank.ng is a food buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) platform operated by FoodBank Nigeria Limited, incorporated in Nigeria. We connect verified food suppliers with households and civil servants who wish to purchase food in bulk and repay over time.

2. Eligibility

To create an account and use FoodBank.ng you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration;
  • Be resident in Nigeria; and
  • Provide a valid Nigerian identity document (NIN and BVN) during KYC verification.

Age verification. We collect your date of birth during registration and verify it as part of our onboarding process. By submitting your date of birth you confirm that the information is accurate and truthful. Providing a false date of birth (including to circumvent the 18-year minimum age requirement) is a material breach of these Terms and will result in immediate account suspension and cancellation of any outstanding credit.

Minors. Our services are not directed at, and must not be used by, persons under the age of 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate the account, cancel any active orders, and, where applicable, reverse any payments made. Parents or guardians who believe a minor has registered should contact us immediately at support@foodbank.ng.

Civil servant plans are available only to confirmed employees of federal or state government agencies whose salaries are processed through the government payroll system.

3. The BNPL Service

FoodBank.ng offers an interest-free installment payment service for food purchases. The standard plan requires a 50% down payment at checkout, with the remaining balance split across two monthly installments. No interest is charged on any plan, though late payments may affect your credit score on the platform.

4. Civil Servant Salary Deduction

Civil servants who apply for the salary deduction plan authorise FoodBank.ng and its banking partners to facilitate payroll deductions to recover outstanding balances. You are responsible for ensuring your salary details are accurate and for notifying us promptly of any changes to your employment.

5. Payments & Repayments

All payments are processed securely through Fincra. You are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds are available on each payment date. Missed payments will be reported and may affect your ability to place future orders.

6. Delivery

Delivery is arranged through our logistics partners. Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary. FoodBank.ng is not liable for delays caused by logistics partners, weather, or events outside our control.

7. Returns & Refunds

Complaints about incorrect or damaged items must be raised within 48 hours of delivery. Approved refunds will be credited to your FoodBank.ng wallet within 5–7 business days.

8. Credit Score

FoodBank.ng maintains an internal credit score for each user. On-time payments improve your score; late or missed payments reduce it. Your score determines the credit tier and maximum order value available to you.

9. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • Engage in fraud or misrepresentation;
  • Provide a false date of birth or otherwise misrepresent eligibility;
  • Are found to belong to a person under 18 years of age;
  • Repeatedly miss repayments; or
  • Violate any other provision of these Terms.

Any outstanding balance remains due after termination. Where an account is terminated due to a false age declaration, we reserve the right to report the matter to relevant authorities.

10. Limitation of Liability

FoodBank.ng is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability in any matter is limited to the value of the order in dispute.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Oyo State.
