Everything you need to know about food loans and BNPL food shopping in Nigeria
With FoodBank.ng, you can buy food on credit in three steps: (1) Create a free account with your phone number. (2) Browse our food catalog and add items to your cart. Rice, beans, garri, cooking oil, and more. (3) At checkout, pay 50% of your order total today via Fincra. The remaining 50% is split into 2 equal installments due 30 and 60 days later.
BNPL stands for 'Buy Now, Pay Later.' FoodBank.ng's food BNPL lets you receive your food items immediately and pay for them over 2 months. You simply pay 50% today and the remaining 50% is automatically split across Installment 1 (Day 30) and Installment 2 (Day 60). You see the full amount before you confirm.
Yes. Oyo State civil servants can apply for salary deducted food credit through FoodBank.ng. You pay 50% upfront at checkout, and the remaining 50% is split across 2 monthly salary deductions on the 26th. No collateral required.
You see the full repayable amount on your order summary before you confirm. No surprises after checkout. The total is split into 3 payments: 50% today, 25% at Day 30, and 25% at Day 60.
For the standard BNPL plan, you only need your phone number and a valid payment card (for the initial 50% down payment). For the civil servant salary deduction plan, you will need your employee ID number, your ministry or department name, your National Identification Number (NIN), and bank account details for verification.
The standard repayment period is 2 months. After paying 50% at checkout, you have two equal installments: one due 30 days after your order, and one due 60 days after your order. Civil servants on the salary deduction plan may have different schedules depending on their pay date.
A missed installment payment will reduce your FoodBank.ng credit score by 15 points. Your account may be temporarily restricted from placing new BNPL orders until the overdue amount is settled. We will send reminders before each payment is due via SMS and email.
Every on-time installment payment earns you +10 points on your FoodBank.ng credit score. A higher score unlocks: (1) Bronze Tier: up to 2 BNPL orders at once. Silver Tier: up to 4 active orders and higher limits. Gold Tier: up to 6 active orders and best terms. Completing orders, verifying your identity, and linking your employment details also boost your score.
